Flores Blasts 3 into Bleachers Saturday, May 1st , 2049 Luis Flores went yard three times in a Old Westbury HS Dukes victory over the Tucson HS Pioneers at Pioneers Stadium today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Old Westbury HS first baseman went 3-for-4 against Tucson HS with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Dukes to the 7-0 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Luis Flores grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Steve Mrazek in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Clarence Harrell in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Clarence Harrell in the 7th. Flores currently has a .398 batting average with 41 hits, 10 homers, 31 RBIs, 29 runs scored and a .512 OBP. |
