van Aerden 5-for-6 Against Loving HS Saturday, June 5th , 2049 Even as a kid, Kamiel van Aerden said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Gray Sox Park today, van Aerden showed how well he learned that lesson. The 16-year-old right fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Manhattan HS Monarchs, helping his team knock off the Loving HS Gray Sox by a score of 16-10. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Kamiel van Aerden singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. This season van Aerden has hit at a .459 clip with 26 RBIs, 3 home runs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 30 games. View Boxscore |
