Best PL Reliever Named
Friday, June 18th , 2049
Oliver Martínez was a calming influence out of the Quebec City HS Nordiques bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 17-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Pioneer League Reliever of the Year Award for 2049.

The Minatitlan, Mexico native won the award with no saves in 9 relief appearances, 25 strikeouts in 19 innings and a record of 2-0 to go with his 0.95 ERA.

He received 40 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Eddie Ames of the Lackland AFB HS Bombers finished second in voting, while Dave Allen of the Markesan HS Gaels finished third.
