Anteaters End van Aerden's Streak Wednesday, April 20th , 2050 The Austin HS Anteaters brought Kamiel van Aerden's hitting spree to a screeching halt today in its 5-4 victory over the Manhattan HS Monarchs at Austin HS Fields. The Austin HS mound staff snapped the 17-year-old right fielder's hitting streak at 20 games, as van Aerden failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "The only reason I cared about the streak was because it meant I was contributing every day," van Aerden said later. "I didn't contribute today, and look what happened." Presently van Aerden is batting .391 with 2 home runs and 18 RBIs. He has played in 16 games and scored 11 times. |
