Llaneras Stretches Hit String to 20 Sunday, April 9th , 2051 The Markesan HS Gaels may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 6-5 to the Modesto HS Navigators, but Chris Llaneras continued to hit like a god. The second baseman collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Llaneras is playing great and is on fire right now," Gaels manager said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Llaneras was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Chris Llaneras singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year Llaneras is batting .361 with no home runs. |
