Byrne Tags Golden Hawks for 5 Hits Saturday, April 29th , 2051 Brad Byrne was at the head of a Tucson HS hit parade today at Pioneers Stadium. The left fielder went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Pioneers to a 15-2 victory over the Riverside HS Golden Hawks. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Byrne told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Golden Hawks skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Brad Byrne singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Kevin Owens in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Byrne on the season is batting .356 with 5 home runs. His totals include 31 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has played in 21 games. View Boxscore |
