Matsushita Hits 3 Homers Against Wisconsin
Tuesday, September 7th , 2055
Michigan Cockatoos catcher Tatsui Matsushita put on a dazzling display of power today at Wisconsin Grounds against the Wisconsin Berserkers. In the 17-4 Cockatoos victory Matsushita penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Wisconsin manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 27-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Matsushita said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Tatsui Matsushita hit a solo-shot off Gilberto Rocha in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ken Lambright in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off José González in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

So far this season Matsushita has gotten 84 hits in 314 at-bats for a .268 batting average with 8 home runs. His stats include 44 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has played in 87 games.
