Admirals End Fleming's Streak
Sunday, May 28th , 2056
The 24-game hitting streak of Missouri Mules catcher Pat Fleming came to an end today at Ballpark of Missouri. The Louisiana Admirals held him hitless in 4 at-bats and also sent the Mules down to defeat, 5-3.
Later, Fleming acknowledged to BNN reporters that the hit streak meant something to him.
"It was special," he said, "but I think other people make a bigger deal out of it than I do, or the players do. It was what we're all supposed to do; go out and hit the ball and try to score runs. It was a cool deal, but it's over now. Let's try to start a new one."
Fleming is hitting .341 this year with 5 home runs, 25 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 47 hits in 138 at-bats, 10 walks and a .377 on-base percentage. Fleming has played in 35 games.
