Kansas Pitcher Gets May's Rookie Trophy Thursday, June 1st , 2056 The top rookie has been named for May -- and the winner is Luis Guerrero. The West presented the trophy to him today in a press conference. It was a strong 3-0 record that brought the Kansas starter the Rookie of the Month award. Guerrero excelled last month with a 1.02 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 35.1 innings, fanned 33 and held hitters he faced to a .208 average. Up to now Guerrero has compiled an ERA of 1.62 with a 6-0 mark over 9 starts. He has 59 strikeouts in 61 innings and has held opponents to a .188 batting average. |
