The Kansas Monarchs and Nevada Piranhas put on a classic League Championship Series that was in question until the final game.
In the end, Kansas won the deciding contest by a score of 4-2, to take the series 4-3.
"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Bob Moore, who earned series MVP honors for Kansas. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."
For the series, Moore hit .391 with a .462 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Kansas Monarchs will play against the Virginia Colonels in the next round. Virginia won their series against the Wisconsin Berserkers 4 games to 0. The United Baseball Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
