Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Michigan right fielder Nobuhito Tanaka went hitless in 3 at-bats today at Admirals Ballpark.

The sudden hitting drought came as the Cockatoos took the 6-1 win over the Louisiana Admirals.

"Nope, it's not magic," Tanaka said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."

This season Tanaka has banged out 65 hits in 237 at-bats for a .274 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .323 pace and his totals also include 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
