2-Game Suspension for Rascals Greer Sunday, August 3rd , 2059 The league commissioner's office has notified the Tennessee Rascals that catcher Eric Greer has been given a 2-game suspension for his involvement in an incident with the home plate umpire in yesterday's Tennessee-South Carolina game at Jackrabbits Ballpark. After being called out on a pitch that he deemed a ball, Greer aggressively expressed his displeasure and was promptly ejected from the game. In the league suspension notice, it stated that he was suspended for making an obscene gesture toward the umpires prior to entering the dugout. The league said that type of behavior would not be tolerated. Greer and the Rascals were unavailable for comment. Thus far this year Greer is hitting .296 with no home runs, 1 RBIs and no runs scored. |
