Berserkers Win League Championship Series
Wednesday, September 10th , 2059
Wisconsin third baseman Josh Edmonston couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the League Championship Series.
"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Edmonston moments after his club eliminated the Massachusetts Possums to advance to the United Baseball Cup.
Wisconsin won the final game by a score of 7-5 at Possums Ballpark and took the series 4-1.
"We won the series and that's the main thing," Edmonston said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."
For the series, Edmonston hit .300 with a .300 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs.
"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Massachusetts manager .
The Wisconsin Berserkers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Louisiana Admirals - Utah Rhinos series. Utah leads the series 3 games to 0. The United Baseball Cup schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
