Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Saturday, July 31st , 2060 After an intense confrontation, both the Goats Esteban Castro and the Mules Edgardo Bishop were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Wyoming-Missouri game. Esteban Castro will miss 4 games, while Edgardo Bishop was suspended for 8 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Esteban Castro commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." For the season Castro has hit .241 with 5 home runs and 16 RBIs. He has played in 32 games and scored 16 times. To date this season Bishop sports a 4-7 mark with a 3.21 ERA in 14 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .250 batting average and has 77 strikeouts in 92.2 innings. |
