Mendoza Sticks It to UBLE Pitchers Monday, August 9th , 2060 27-year-old Javy Mendoza sent shock waves through United Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the East Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Mendoza made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .471 average, 8 hits in 17 at-bats, 2 home runs and 3 runs batted in. Where the Massachusetts Possums left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Mendoza certainly made his mark last week. For the season Mendoza is batting .241 with 89 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 37 times and batted in 48. |
