Rowdy Players Suspended by League Wednesday, July 29th , 2065 If there wasn't a history between Zach Burke of Indiana and Jim Hoffman of New Hampshire, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Burke said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." So far this season Burke is batting .265 with 2 home runs, 43 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has 87 hits in 328 at-bats, 31 walks and a .335 OBP. Burke has played in 92 games. To date this season Hoffman has compiled a 5-4 record with a 2.02 ERA in 9 starts. |
