Great Stroke: Barraud Gets 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 5th , 2069
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Vincent Barraud, it came around today.
The 34-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Wisconsin Grounds to pace the 15-1 Wisconsin Berserkers victory over the New Hampshire Conquistadors.
New Hampshire skipper told reporters in the press room that "Barraud deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Barraud hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Vincent Barraud hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Scotty Stevens in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this year, Barraud has hit .288 with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
