Goldy Socks It to Falcons, Cracks 5 Hits
Garrettsville HS River Cats third baseman Steve Goldy had a day to remember at Garrettsville HS Grounds today, ripping apart the Ft. Worth HS Falcons and sparking the River Cats to a 11-5 victory.

Goldy wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Goldy told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Steve Goldy singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ray McMillian in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Brian Liss in the 7th.
