Sierra Vista Southeast HS Wins High School Wildcard Series
|
The championship aspirations of the Sierra Vista Southeast HS Cedars are still alive and well, while the Nashville HS Predators are left to wait until next year.
Sierra Vista Southeast HS won the clinching game of the High School Wildcard Series 4-3 over Nashville HS at Field of the Cedars, to win the series 3-1.
"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said left fielder Andy Harness, who paced the Sierra Vista Southeast HS offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."
Harness claimed the MVP by racking up 6 hits for a .261 average, with a .261 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, 8 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Sierra Vista Southeast HS Cedars don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Reno HS Wranglers - Mesa HS Warlords series. Reno HS leads the series 2 games to 1. The High School LCS schedule will be announced after the High School Wildcard Series finishes.
