Pérez on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Rochester
Luis Antonio Pérez was at the head of a Wilmington Eagles hit parade today at Spartans Stadium. The 40-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Rochester Spartans that marched off with the 18-9 win.

"We didn't have it today," griped Eagles skipper following the game. "Luis Antonio did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."

Pérez did more than fine, dominating the Spartans at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.

"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging first baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."

Luis Antonio Pérez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

In 82 games Pérez is hitting .396 this season with 125 hits, 27 home runs, 68 RBIs, 29 walks, .451 OBP and has scored 73 runs.
