Explorers End Constant's Streak Saturday, July 26th , 2053 Jeff Constant, catcher for the Oklahoma City Whirlwind, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Raleigh Explorers today. Not only did the Explorers break his 23-game hitting streak, they also beat Oklahoma City by the score of 5-2. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Constant said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." So far this season Constant has put up a .339 batting average with 116 hits, 11 home runs and 54 RBIs. |
