Dempsey Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Friday, September 5th , 2053 The hitting streak for St. Louis second baseman Jon Dempsey now stands at 20 games, but the Sportsman dropped today's contest 9-6 to the Glendale Cobras. Dempsey went 2-for-4 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 2 hits and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Jon Dempsey walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pepe Maldonado in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Dempsey has 11 home runs and a .395 batting average. |
