ELW Batter of the Month Honors to Ortiz Sunday, August 1st , 2055 Omar Ortiz made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the West this past month. The Rochester Spartans right fielder shined through the month of July and has won the Batter of the Month award. The 22-year-old hit .385 with 8 home runs, 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored. This year Ortiz has socked 118 hits in 383 at-bats for a .308 average with 24 home runs. He is getting on base at a .401 pace and his totals also include 83 RBIs and 72 runs scored. |
