Rodríguez 5-for-6 for Ducks Saturday, July 22nd , 2056 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for José Rodríguez, it came around today. The 28-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Spartans Stadium to pace the Eugene Ducks to a 10-7 victory over the Rochester Spartans. Rochester skipper told reporters in the press room that "Rodríguez deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Rodríguez hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." José Rodríguez grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Rodríguez has gotten 22 hits in 89 at-bats for a .247 batting average with 1 home run. His stats include 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has played in 38 games. View Boxscore |
