Explorers End Pérez's Streak Sunday, August 10th , 2059 Lady Luck was not on the side of Luis Antonio Pérez or his teammates today at Raleigh Field. Everything went the way of the Raleigh Explorers, who not only came away with the 8-2 victory over Wilmington, but also held Pérez hitless in 3 at-bats to put an end to his 21-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Pérez said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." So far this season, Pérez has recorded a .321 batting average with 44 hits, 8 home runs, 28 RBIs, 23 runs scored and a .383 OBP. |
