Party's Over: García Retires in Birmingham
Thursday, August 31st , 2062
Birmingham Vulcans starting pitcher Dan García will retire at the end of the season, according to reports out of team headquarters. García, 37, has been considering retirement since last season sources say, though he has declined to speak publicly about retirement.

"Dan still likes baseball," one source said, "He wants to play, but he also knows he's getting up in age and the skills are not what he wants them to be. He says it's physically getting harder to go out there every day. That's why he's hanging up his spikes."

García has a career won-loss record of 46 wins and 43 losses with 794 strikeouts in 798 innings and a 3.81 ERA.
