Peaches End Cao's Streak Tuesday, September 11th , 2063 Raleigh center fielder Hi-yuan Cao came into today's game against the Atlanta Peaches on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Peaches did their jobs well, beating the Raleigh Explorers 2-0 and holding Cao hitless to snap his 24-game hitting streak. The 31-year-old center fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-3, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Hi-yuan did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Explorers manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 24 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." In this current campaign Cao is hitting at a .321 clip with 7 home runs and 52 RBIs. |
