Bad Behavior Costs Lafon and Reyes Saturday, September 15th , 2063 Yesterday at Spartans Stadium Cyril Lafon and Victor Reyes got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Rochester Spartans and Louisville Sluggers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Lafon will have to sit out 4 while Reyes would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This season Lafon is batting .263 with 10 home runs. He has scored 28 runs and driven in 29. So far this season, Reyes has logged a 8-12 record with a 6.28 ERA. He has started 31 games, hurled 147.2 innings and registered 96 strikeouts and 65 walks. |
