An old hand in this game, Mike Cox of the Glendale Cobras silenced critics as well as he silenced the opposition this year by winning the West Most Valuable Pitcher.

The 36-year-old starter threw 189.2 innings, notched 139 strikeouts and put up a 14-12 record to claim the coveted award.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 20. Chad Lambright of the Olympia Battle Cats finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Hsin Guang of the Idaho Falls Rapids finished third.
