Tomita Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Saturday, June 22nd , 2047 Shigochiyo Tomita continued his streak at Sportsman Park today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The San Antonio first baseman was 1-for-5 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Turtles were not as fortunate, losing 6-5 to the St. Louis Sportsman. "Tomita was hitting everything we threw at him," said St. Louis manager . "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Shigochiyo Tomita struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Tomita is currently hitting at a .369 pace with 18 home runs, 58 RBIs and has scored 52 times. |
