Avalanche End Tomita's Streak Thursday, June 27th , 2047 Shigochiyo Tomita's 24-game hitting streak has now come and gone. It was snapped today as the San Antonio Turtles suffered a 6-2 setback against the Colorado Springs Avalanche. Tomita went without a hit in 3 trips to the plate. He was visibly upset during a postgame press conference, but it appeared that the streak had little to do with it. "The hitting streak was one of those things where it was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to lose any sleep about it tonight," he said. "On the other hand, I am going to lose sleep about dropping this game today." On the year Tomita is hitting .363 with 117 hits, 18 home runs, 58 RBIs, .426 OBP and has scored 53 runs. |
