Farmer Smacks 5 Hits for Avalanche Saturday, July 25th , 2048 Colorado Springs catcher Ted Farmer had a day to remember today, 5-for-7 against the Pittsburgh Crawfords at Crawfords Field as the Avalanche picked up a 15-9 victory. "He was patient up there today," Colorado Springs skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Farmer has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes." Ted Farmer singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 12th.
