Turtles End Chio's Streak Saturday, August 15th , 2048 The San Antonio Turtles pitching staff did its job today, holding hot-hitting Yu-hsui Chio hitless in 4 at-bats during the club's 7-6 victory over the Cleveland Attack at Turtles Field. The disappointing performance ended a 21-game hitting streak for the third baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Chio said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." This season Chio is swinging the bat at a .299 rate with 146 hits in 488 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 70 runs and driven in 51. |
