Spartans End Hancock's Streak Saturday, July 30th , 2050 Danny Hancock, catcher for the Olympia Battle Cats, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Rochester Spartans today. Not only did the Spartans break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Olympia by the score of 10-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Hancock said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This year Hancock has hit at a .391 clip with 52 RBIs, 18 home runs and 46 runs scored. |
