Grand Junction-Spokane Fight Results in Suspensions

After an intense confrontation, both the Lumberjacks Josh Gardner and the Indians Dan Waterfield were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Grand Junction-Spokane game. Josh Gardner will miss 5 games, while Dan Waterfield was suspended for 6 games.
"Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Josh Gardner commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play."
Looking at his present stats, Gardner has compiled a .269 batting average in 86 games with a .400 on-base percentage, while hitting 17 home runs and driving in 52 runs.
This season, Waterfield has 2 wins and 7 losses and a 5.30 ERA.
