Most of the time the starting pitchers get the glory, but not this year. A Detroit HS reliever, Paul Torr, has been voted the 2062 Outstanding Pitcher Award in the Pioneer League.

The Red Wings ace appeared in 13 games and saved 10 of them. He had a 0-0 record with a 0.00 ERA. Torr registered 36 strikeouts in 18.1 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .174 batting average.

He received 35 first place votes out of a possible 40. Dustin Marshall of the Modesto HS Navigators finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Felipe Lagunes of the Quebec City HS Nordiques finished third with 1 first place vote.
