Stephen Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, March 25th , 2065 The Riverside HS Golden Hawks downed the Austin HS Anteaters 5-4 today at Golden Hawks Ballpark, in spite of the best efforts of Austin HS shortstop Ryan Stephen. Stephen lashed the ball all over the park in a 5-hit explosion, finishing with a 5-for-7 line -- and a loss. "I don't remember a better day batting, but it sure is disappointing to lose the game," he said to BNN reporters in the postgame interview. "A win would have made the day much sweeter." Asked if he would adjust his strategy next time the Golden Hawks face Stephen, Riverside HS manager said "absolutely not." "Our strategy was to not give him good pitches to hit," he said. "We didn't do that, and he worked us over. Thankfully, we won anyway, and next time we'll pitch to him better." Ryan Stephen struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, struck out in the 11th and singled in the 14th. To date Stephen has chalked up a .478 average with no home runs, driven in 4 runs and scored 2 times. View Boxscore |
