Mike Porter Wallops 3 Homers for Saints Sunday, March 29th , 2065 Milwaukee HS Saints first baseman Mike Porter sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Dallas HS Hammerheads, Porter told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Porter pushed the Saints past the Hammerheads, 10-6. To go along with the homers, he collected 9 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Porter told reporters after the game. Mike Porter struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Cory Elsten in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Cory Elsten in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Gilberto Solorzano in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. On the year Porter has hit .343 with 6 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 10 runs. |
