Lopez Blasts 3 into Bleachers Monday, March 30th , 2065 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Houston HS Hornets today. Markham HS second baseman Juan Lopez tripled up on the home runs to propel the Coyotes to the 24-1 win at Hornets Park. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Houston HS manager said. "Lopez hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Lopez collected 5 hits in 7 at-bats, 9 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Juan Lopez singled in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Cory Pruett in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Haggard in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Donald Brown in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Lopez has hit at a .400 clip and produced 15 runs batted in, 4 home runs and 9 runs. |
