The sweet swing of Brian Ellis has led his team through the High School LCS.

The Kirbyville HS Drillers star earned series MVP honors as his club downed the Garrettsville HS River Cats to advance to the High School Cup.

The Drillers won the final game at Garrettsville HS Grounds by a score of 3-1 and the series 4-3.

"I'm seeing the ball well and happy to contribute to a win," said Ellis. "I hope it continues for the rest of the playoffs."

For the series, Ellis hit .375 with a .515 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Kirbyville HS Drillers will play against the Montreal HS Loggers in the next round. Montreal HS won their series against the Modesto HS Navigators 4 games to 0. The High School Cup schedule will be announced after the High School LCS finishes.
