Doggett Bashes 5 Base Hits Monday, March 31st , 2070 Today at Warlords Ballpark, Jeremy Doggett put on an impressive display. The Mesa HS Warlords third baseman tagged Boston HS pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Boston HS Mulleteers by the score of 14-13. "The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Doggett said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league." Despite the terrific performance, the Warlords manager was unwilling to offer the third baseman much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses. "Jeremy told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager said. Jeremy Doggett hit a three-run home run off David Henderson in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Andrew Shrum in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and singled in the 12th. This year, Doggett is hitting .460 with 8 home runs and 25 RBIs in 12 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .550 with 9 walks and 18 runs scored. View Boxscore |
