6-Hit Barrage by Cintrón Sunday, May 3rd , 2043 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Jorge Cintrón today -- a 6-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Ballpark of Anaheim HS and paced the Locomotives to a 13-0 win over the Anaheim HS Loons. After his dynamite batting performance, the New Orleans HS first baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 6 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Jorge Cintrón hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Pat Hudson in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Del Hannah in the 9th. For the season Cintrón is hitting .298, batted in 22 runs with 4 home runs and 23 runs scored. View Boxscore |
