McCrary Selected PL's Best Player Saturday, July 9th , 2044 The manager of the Modesto HS Navigators said he thinks Bob McCrary is only going to get better as he gets older. He may only be 16, but it will be hard to top the second baseman's 2044 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Pioneer League Outstanding Hitter Award. His winning campaign featured a .408 batting average and a .518 on-base percentage this year. In 50 games he piled up 82 hits, 14 doubles, 5 triples, 12 home runs, 59 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 40. Steve Crowley of the Queens HS Bruins finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Pete Harrison of the Lackland AFB HS Bombers finished third with 5 first place votes.
