Hit Streak Over, Sea Lions Stop Lacy Saturday, April 22nd , 2045 Modesto HS third baseman Joe Lacy went 0-for-4 today in Modesto HS's 5-4 triumph over the San Francisco HS Sea Lions, snapping his 22-game hitting streak. Lacy spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later." "I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though." When Lacy made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Sea Lions manager said of Lacy's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here." Lacy is swinging at a .363 pace on the year with 8 home runs, 28 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has played in 21 games. |
