Ridin' High: Brady Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, May 16th , 2045
Mike Brady did everything he could for the Phoenix HS Fire Ants today -- literally.

The 14-year-old shortstop hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Fire Ants, going for the cycle and helping them get past the San Jose HS Sharks, 16-15, at Ballpark of Phoenix HS.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Brady reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Brady banged out 6 hits in 6 at-bats and totaled 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Mike Brady doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, tripled in the 9th and hit a three-run home run off Alex Richardson in the 9th.

This season Brady is batting .325 with 51 hits, 6 home runs, 39 RBIs, .401 OBP and has scored 25 runs.
