Big Bat Pays Off, Velayas Player of the Week Monday, April 26th , 2049 His lightning swing and solid bat took the Pioneer League by storm. All week Steve Velayas of the Quebec City HS Nordiques shocked opponents with an electrifying performance to capture the Pioneer League Player of the Week honors. The talented left fielder sparked his team by hitting .500 with 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. So far this year Velayas has hit .311 with 10 home runs, 22 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
