PL Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award

He may only be 14, but D.J. Salinas of the New Orleans HS Locomotives has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Pioneer League.

The reliever was today named the PL Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2051.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 6 saves in 10 relief appearances and 44 strikeouts in 29 innings. He had a record of 0-2 to go with his 1.55 ERA.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 40. Edwin McDonald of the San Jose HS Sharks finished second in voting with 14 first place votes, while Jeff Wright of the Markesan HS Gaels finished third with 16 first place votes.
