Orlando Oceanics Take Liberty Cup
|
The Orlando Oceanics were good enough to get past the Pensacola Wahoos at Orlando Stadium today and secure the 9th championship in franchise history.
"When you wear Oceanics on your shirt, you're good at something," Orlando skipper told the press.
Oceanics second baseman John Staples was named MVP of the series after he went .579 with no home runs and 4 RBI.
"It feels totally incredible," Staples said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."
The new champions capped off a great season with a 4-3 victory over the Wahoos to win the Liberty Cup 4-1.
