Salazar Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, August 11th , 2054 The Jacksonville Rockies fell to the Sunrise Gators in Gator Field today, even as 21-year-old second baseman António Salazar upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Salazar finished with 1 hit in 3 at-bats, but could not stop the Rockies from dropping the 6-3 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Salazar. António Salazar walked in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Salazar is hitting .357 with 6 home runs, 65 RBIs and 78 runs scored. He has 144 hits in 403 at-bats and a .473 OBP. |
