Injury Sidelines Yan Garnier For Year
Tuesday, September 8th , 2054
Sunrise first baseman Yan Garnier could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He exited yesterday's St. Petersburg game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Garnier would be out 9 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Thus far this season in 89 games Garnier is batting .274 with 16 home runs, 55 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He has 85 hits in 310 at-bats.
